On the 4th day of Festivus, Humble Bundle gave to me…..
REPEAT-O-METER: 2
Oh, whats this thing, you ask? It’s just the Repeat-o-Meter. Everytime a game or DLC or what not that was a part of last year’s bundle appears, the meter goes up by one. Yes- so far we already have 2 repeats- all of which will be gathered at the end of the Advent, for your discretion. Today’s repeat is Guild Wars 2: Heroic Edition, if you were wondering.
So yeah. We got two games, and repeat of DLC from last year. I’ll give my thoughts below.
Freaky Awesome (9.99)– A crazy “Binding of Issac” esque Rogue-lite where you play as a guy looking for his dog. He goes and into a manhole outside of a abandoned factory, and lands into nuclear waste. You then start mutating into crazy creatures and fight other mutants in an ever-changing maze, again- like BoI. It wasn’t too bad, but the presentation and art style isn’t for everyone. Not bad, and Freaky indeed!
LakeView Cabin Collection (9.99)– A fun little “survival horror” that’s actually really unique! You play as characters in various “movies” and try to survive the pixelated horrors that come out at night! It’s an obvious love-letter to slasher films- the “Friday the 13th” vibes could be felt from the get go. This is probably one of the more interesting games in the bundle thus far!
Guild Wars 2 DLC (19.99)– Unlike the other F2P games that gave DLC last year, GW2 is something I actually played for a bit. Wasn’t bad- wasn’t bad at all! However, the level scaling kinda ruined it for me, and I put it down. What’s the point of leveling up in PvE if enemies if the game is just going to scale you to the zones level? If your interested in trying, today’s your luck day…..

FINAL VERDICT– Eh. Not too bad! The games were a bit strange, but that’s indie games for ya! I think Lakeview Cabin was the clear winner today! Even though it’s a bit disappointing that we’re already getting repeats, I think I’ll give today an average score of 2.5/5. Perfectly serviceable!
