Yogscast Jingle Jam 2017- Day 5

Yogscast Jingle Jam 2017- Day 5

First off, I have some awful news- the complete list of games for the Yogscast Jingle Jam 2017 Humble Bundle- has been leaked!

Thankfully, I only saw part of the image that shows all the games being planned to be released, so I was not completely spoiled. However, that means that this attempt at an fun advent calendar could potentially be ruined by spoilers. Even though this list exists, I want to solider on without spoilers- who knows- maybe it won’t be as bad as people are already saying!

In other words, I will continue posting my thoughts for each day’s reveal even though this image exists, and once again, I only saw a glimpse of the image- I only know of 2 or 3 days of content- everything else is unknown to me. This is pretty much my advent calendar, after all, and I’m not gonna be that little brother who opened up all the doors day one, no siree!

For your protection, I have put said image of the complete list of games in a zipped file you have to download, just so I won’t spoil myself or any others reading this blog who have also bought the bundle and want to be surprised!

So now that’s out of the way, I can finally talk about all the cool stuff I got today!

On the 5th day of Christmas, Humble Bundle gave to me…

An at least $31 value, just for the games themselves

Day 5 has a bunch of games and DLC that was in last years bundle- Chivalry and the DLC for Blade and Soul and Guild Wars 2 were all in the bundle from last year. Hopefully, their just getting all the repeats out of the way early so they focus on the “Good” stuff.

I was excited to see Guild Wars 2- until I realized that it went free to play 2 years ago. All this time, I thought it was a buy to play mmo, and it turned out I could have been playing it all this time… At least I get some cool stuff like a unique armor, inventory expansion, and some XP boosts, if I decide to play!

You also get a coupon for an expansion. Yeah, coupons are probably going to be the worst things I get in this bundle, hopefully.

We also got some more DLC for a f2p game called Blade and Soul that I might check out. Don’t know if it’s any good, though.

The coolest bonus of the bundle so far has to be the Beta access for Vermintide II. I mean, I get access to a game that not even out yet, without having to preorder anything? That’s pretty cool- hope my computer can run it. (Protip: It probably can’t)

OWNED: Yes, I already have Chivalry- I got it free a month or two ago as some kind of promotion for the devs new game. This game has also was in the Humble Bundle last year. However, I heard it was pretty good (I really haven’t gotten around to playing it) so if your getting it for the first time, its not a total loss.

Finally, we have Dreaming Sarah, yet another “Hidden Gem” of a game it seems- a platformer with puzzle elements said to be inspired by the seminal “Yume Nikki”, a detail which peaks my interest. I’ll defiantly check this one out- I get a lot of games I never heard of in these bundles that end up being better then I expect them to be, and this may be one of them!

While there was a lot of content today, a lot of it was recycled from last year’s bundle, it seems. Gonna have to give today’s offering a 3 out of 5 because of this.

What do you think? Is this Humble Bundle a good deal so far, or is it another disappointment? What do you think about the leak? Sound off in the comments below! Or don’t. I’m fine either way…
