Fanbases are funny things. They can bring a game together, or tear them apart. There are games that certain specific fanbases love and consider classics, but then there are others that fanbases have completely and utterly destroyed, left abandoned and left to die. To be perfectly honest, a lot of games don’t deserve that- its almost a misunderstanding of sorts. But there are those who can never be redeemed…
Just like me!
That is why I have created a new kind of review I like to call “Hated in The Nation”. Yes, I know- I have been watching too much Black Mirror– Its where I blatantly stole the title from because I lack originality! However, I think it fits perfectly on how some games are looked upon by their fans. Misfits, outcasts- no, I’m not talking about me! I’m talking about games that are a farcry from their predecessors. Maybe a mechanic is added in that ruins everything! Maybe features from previous entries, ones that shaped the series, are no longer present! Maybe that f@#ked up the entire ending, BIOWARE I’ll NEVER FORGIVE YOU REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Once again, I will tell you what I think about these sort of outcasted games using my usual s@#tty review system. However, I will also simply dictate whether the game in question deserves all the hate it deserves. Is it a misunderstood creature that deserves a 2nd chance? Or is an unredeemable pile of s@#t? Follow this blog to find out this, and more. But mostly this.
So how do I know such games are reviled? Well, I use a few sources- One is metacritic- you can usually spot a game hated by its fans if the User score is significantly lower then its Critic Reviews (Look at Need For Speed: Most Wanted 2012 on PC for a good example). Another source is going to be one I know a lot of people are going to ridicule me for, but its a very good source none the less. 4chan. That’s right! I said it! Its the #1 place for unfiltered opinions and dead memes, and /v/ makes you realize which games really are the worst of the worst!

- Mass Effect 3
- Diablo 3
- DMC: Devil May Cry
- Super Mario 3D World
- And much much more!
Remember- these games are hated by the “hardcore” fans, and doesn’t mean there automatically crap. Some of the game listed actually have a good reputation- 3D World, for example has good reviews from both Critics and Users. However, digging around a bit, you’d find that Super Mario 64 fans absolute positively hate the damn game- you’ll even find a certain Youtuber,who I won’t name to protect him, even putting it as #1 Disappointing games of all time list! Everything is subjective here!

Not the original, just the DS version. I’ve seen a lot people give it a lot of flak despite it adding a bunch of new content.
